Jet Centre project progressing despite delays

by isleofman.com 24th September 2012

The new Business Aviation Centre at Isle of Man Airport has suffered some setbacks - but will be open by November.

That's the claim of the firm behind the scheme, The Private Jet Company.

Suggestions the scheme had run into financial difficulty surfaced after the August completion date was missed.

However, the company says while they had been optimistic the facility would be open by late summer 2012, a combination of poor weather and delays in transporting building materials to the Island means they've had to extend the project time frame.

Contractors Island Drainage and Groundworks have confirmed a consignment of windows for the new hangar which had been held-up in Heysham, have now arrived and a spokesman confirmed work on the project will continue when weather allows.

A spokesman for the Private Jet Company said after seven years of planning and development they remain dedicated to creating the facility which they believe will be an 'exciting and valuable' asset to the Isle of Man.
