Armed police: balance needs to be struck

The Manx Chief Constable says placing armed officers on the Island's streets should only be after assessment of any threat involved.

Speaking on Manx Radio's Sunday Opinion, Mike Langdon was responding to the shooting of two police officers in Manchester last week, one of them a WPC whose family live in the Island.

Mr Langdon says, at the same time, the relationship between the police and the public has to be balanced.
