Ballot on loss of paid lunch breaks for bus drivers

It will become clearer later today (Friday) if a dispute over bus drivers’ pay can be resolved.

If drivers accept losing their entitlement to a paid lunch break, it would cost them around ?5,000 each a year.

Unite’s Eric Holmes says whilst he will try to avoid industrial action, he fears it is inevitable if the results of a ballot lead the government to threaten drivers’ jobs.
