by isleofman.com 20th September 2012

Police in Manchester have charged Dale Cregan with four counts of murder.

He's accused of killing police officers Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes, who died on Tuesday, and father and son David and Mark Short, who were killed in separate attacks earlier this year.

Fiona Bone attended Castle Rushen High School in the 1990s, before leaving the Island to attend university. Her family still live on the Island and came back here on a regular basis.

Cregan is also charged with the attempted murder of four people who were in the Cotton Tree pub in Droylsden where Mark Short was shot.

The 29-year-old is due to appear in court tomorrow.
