Cav signs off in style

by isleofman.com 17th September 2012

Mark Cavendish has finished off his year in the world champion's rainbow jersey in style.

The Manxman sprinted clear on the cobbled streets of Guildford to win the final stage of the Tour of Britain – his third success in this year’s race.

After being roared to victory by thousands of fans in Surrey, Cavendish admitted it was probably his last race for his current employers, Team Sky.

He now heads to the road cycling World Championships in Holland but Cavendish says while he’s unlikely to win again - that won't stop him from making an impact.

Jonathan Tiernan-Locke become the first British rider to win the Tour of Britain in 19 years and has been linked with a move to Team Sky.
