Bus left boy behind claim

A mum from Braaid has complained after her son was left behind by the school bus just days into his first term.

She says the 11-year old was stranded at QEII High School when the driver refused to pick him up because the bus to Douglas was full.

His mum Samantha said coming just after he started in Year 7, it caused quite a shock.

Transport chiefs have a different version of the story.

Director of Public Transport Ian Longworth says the boy was offered a seat on the crowded bus but didn't want to take it.

Mr Longworth says judging capacity on school routes in the first week of the new school year is always a headache:
