More sheltered housing wanted

There's strong support for an increase in sheltered and specialist housing for the most vulnerable.

That's a finding from the Department of Social Care's recent Housing Review Consultation.

Over 800 individuals and organisations made their views heard and submitted comments

Director of House for the Department of Social Care, Debbie Reeve, says the Island's population is ageing and there's an increasing move to try and allow people to stay in their own home as long as possible.

She says that various opportunities can be explored when it comes to funding such schemes.
