Old flames should get together

by isleofman.com 7th September 2012

One of the Isle of Man's Olympic torch bearers is appealing to others involved in the relay to get in touch, to keep the spirit of the event alive for the future.

Henry de Silva from Andreas was awarded a place on the Manx relay team in recognition of his work coaching children in fencing.

Now he wants to form a Manx torch bearers' team to audition for a BBC quiz show.

He hopes contacts can be forged between the 27 carriers of the flame on the Manx leg of the relay to the London games, for future charity projects.

Henry says there's been little opportunity for those involved in the historic event to share their experiences:

Henry de Silva can be contacted on 880863.
