Home visits for fire safety

by isleofman.com 7th September 2012

The island's fire and rescue service is offering free home safety visits as part of a new drive warning local residents about the devastation a fire in the home can cause.

The scheme was announced at the launch of a new fire safety booklet, outlining simple steps everyone can take to minimise the risk of a blaze at home.

The venture is part of a tie-up between the Manx fire service and Douglas based Tower Insurance.

Chief Fire Officer Brian Draper is inviting members of the public to book a visit from a local firefighter to learn some simple lessons which could save a life.
