Your chance to help clean up beaches

by isleofman.com 6th September 2012

Members of the public are urged to get involved in Beachwatch's Big weekend, after the island featured on the cover of the Marine Conservation Society's Good Beach Guide.

The clean up event, organised by Beach Buddies over the weekend of the 14th-17th September, aims to raise awareness to clean up the nation's beaches.

However, Isle of Man co-ordinator for the event Bill Dale, stresses the public should look further than just the weekend's event and realise rubbish is a year round problem.

In a push to improve the island's environment Beach Buddies is planning a new initiative which stretches further than just the coast line.

If you want to get involved in next weekend's event and other clean up projects you can contact Bill Dale by email at beachbuddies@manx.net
