Esther Rantzen and colleagues met with representatives from the Department of Social Care and the Isle of Man Council for Voluntary Organisations on Monday 3rd September to discuss the possibility of piloting a new help line service for older people called SilverLine on the Isle of Man. The charity is seeking to provide similar services to the highly successful ChildLine service for young people.
The Minister for Social Care Hon Chris Robertshaw MHK said:
“Both my Department and the Council for Voluntary Organisations are very pleased to have the opportunity to discuss the exciting possibility of being one of the pilot sites for SilverLine. A further meeting is planned later in September to discuss the proposals in further detail. The three parties will provide more information once we are in a position to do so.”
