For the first time in the Isle of Man privately run pre-schools will open their doors this morning.
The government ceased running the operations at the end of July.
Parents now have to pay for this provision, but everyone with a pre-school aged child is entitled to a voucher worth ?350 from the Department of Education.
Director of Education Martin Barrow says as of yesterday (Tues) 624 people out of an eligible 1000 had applied for the credit.
He says it's still not too late to apply for this academic year.
