Corlett treble sparks title talk

by isleofman.com 1st September 2012

A first half Paul Corlett hat-trick underlined Michael’s title ambitions on Saturday.

They defeated relegated Ayre United – also tipped to challenge for promotion – 3-0 at Balleira Road in the game of the day.

The other big match in JCK Division Two ended all square.

Ramsey Youth Centre and Douglas Royal traded goals at Lezayre Road, through Matthew Boyde and Gavin Gawne.

Onchan had to battle hard to overcome Douglas Athletic 2-0, courtesy of a goal in each half from Steve McIntosh and Kraig Marsh.

A Barry English double and a Matthew Cowin goal fired Pulrose to a 3-1 success at Malew.

Ronaldsway pushed Braddan hard before going down 4-3.

Penalties from Cameron Omar and Liam Crawley (pen), plus one from Jamie Heaney, kept the Rockets in touch.

Foxdale secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 win at Colby, thanks to second half goals from Ricky Newsome and a Michael Cawte penalty.
