Sea safety advice following canoe and kayak users

by isleofman.com 1st September 2012

Vital safety advice for anyone planning trips in a kayak or canoe is on offer in the Island later this month.

Keirron Tastagh who runs Adventurous Experiences has organised two seminars on basic kayak safety following a spate of serious incidents off the Manx coast.

Last week three teenage kayakers were picked-up from the sea after one capsized, and earlier in the summer a child alone in a canoe was rescued after being blown out to sea.

The seminars, on consecutive Saturdays from 29th September, will include advice on selecting a safe location, tides, equipment and emergency procedures.
