Staff and members of the Palace Health Club joined in with the Olympic spirit, keeping active and eating healthily in an effort to complete a weight loss challenge set by the Club.
The target was for challengers to lose weight and tone up over a period of six weeks, with the final weigh-in taking place on August 9th. The total weight loss of the final sixteen finishers was 117.4lbs, with one participant losing an impressive 25lbs!
Palace Health Club Manager Ken Hedley, who coordinated the challenge, said: ‘This has been our most popular challenge to date, and I’m really pleased that so many people were willing to take part. Participants were given nutrition sheets and exercise programmes, which were changed every two weeks, and were encouraged along the way by personal trainers James Moffitt and Kristy Ashe.
‘Everyone has shown the willpower of Olympians in their dedication to complete the challenge and huge congratulations are deserved for those involved!’
Challenger Rachel Middleton added: ‘I’m so glad that everybody’s hard work has paid off. We all tried incredibly hard and are so pleased with the results. James was a great support throughout the challenge, so we would like to thank him and the rest of the staff at the Palace Health Club for spurring us along and being so enthusiastic about the challenge.’
