More flooding after heavy rain

by isleofman.com 30th August 2012

Heavy rainfall caused flooding in many areas on the east of the Island last night (Wed)

Fire crews attended incidents in Douglas, Onchan, Baldrine and Laxey and emergency services were inundated with calls.

Peel Road in Douglas from Quarterbridge to its junction with Pulrose Bridge closed for a time and the pressure of water damaged parts of the road surface on Bucks Road and the bottom of Crellins Hill.

Duty Officer at Douglas Fire station Carl Kinvig, says fire crews, along with Police, Civil Defence, Douglas Corporation and DOI teams were kept very busy between 9 and 11pm last night
