The tragic story of Summerland has been heard on Radio 4 this morning (Monday).
The programme recounted what happened when a fire started on the evening of August 2,1973, using some recordings from the night.
There were an estimated 3,000 people in the building when the fire started, 50 lost their lives including 11 children.
No-one was held directly responsible for what happened.
Firefighters who tackled the blaze and other witnesses were interviewed.
Ruth McQuillan was brought back to the Island for the first time since her family were caught in the fire and accompanied programme presenter Stephen Smith to the Summerland site.
