Teacher commitment unquestioned

The strain of fewer jobs, pensions, workload and pay is showing in the education profession.

That’s the view of the Island’s representative of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers.

Andrew Shipley was speaking after GCSE grades fell across the UK for the first time.

However, he admits local teachers remain firmly committed to ensuring Island students do not suffer academically.
