The concept that we've taken all the fish we should from British waters for the year is in-line with Manx thinking
That's the belief of spokesman for the Manx Fish Producers Tom Bryan Browne.
He was responding to recent news in the UK that suggests seas around the British Isles can only satisfy demands for 233 days and after that fish should be imported to allow stocks here to recover.
He says Island waters already have technical conservation in place and there are closed seasons and areas
However Mr Bryan-Browne says trying to enforce realistic and sustainable quotas isn't as simple and straightforward as suggesting that fishing should just stop after the 233 day period
