Construction industry still needs help, says Employers' Federation

The government is doing its bit to keep workers employed in the construction industry - but it needs to keep helping.

That's the view of the president of the Isle of Man Employers' Federation, Les Nichol.

He was speaking as the federation tries to raise awareness of the Manx Accredited Construction Contractors Scheme, or MACCS, which aims to encourage good practice in the sector.

Mr Nichol says the government remains the single largest employer in the construction industry and whilst he would like to see more work coming from them, he can understand the financial predicament they are in:
