Couch says IOM and UK differences must be recognised

Anyone moving to the Island to work should view it as a different country.

That's according to Assessor of Income Tax Dr Malcolm Couch.

The Income Tax Division of the Treasury launched a public consultation on tax strategy last month, with a request on opinions and suggestions from businesses and members of the public.

The consultation period ends on September 7, and a new tax strategy for the Island will be published by the end of the year.

Speaking live on Manx Radio Dr Couch said those coming here to work should be aware that it's not part of the UK:
