The founder of the End to End Challenge Mountain Bike event is critical of Government for withdrawing ?8,000 to help fund television coverage just three weeks before this year's race.

Graham Hughes says the loss at such short notice affects carefully balanced budgets.

He also believes the exposure on Sky Sports for cycling and the Isle of Man is great value for money as they look at ways of expanding the racing format.

Graham Hughes says the event relies heavily on sponsorship and is worried about the message this episode sends out:-
