Problems remain on Island's roads after heavy rain

Yesterday's heavy rain and flooding is continuing to cause problems on the Island's roads today.

The Mountain Road is still closed from Ramsey Hairpin to Creg Ny Baa until noon (Sat 18th) whilst DOI workers continue to work on it.

The Old Castletown Road, Douglas near to the Nunnery is currently blocked with a fallen tree.

Motorists are being advised to take an alternative route until the road is cleared.

Police and DOI workers are in attendance and diversions are in place.

The A2 Ramsey Road in Laxey remains closed between Captain's Hill & Ard Reayrt after a landslip in the area

Further surveying of the scene is taking place this morning and a decision will be made regarding opening
the road before 10am

Due to the landslide all bus services 3/3A/N3 to and from Ramsey will divert via Captains Hill, Glen Road Minorca Hill to pick up there Route.
