Race against time to get MGP roads ready

by isleofman.com 17th August 2012

There's a race against time to get parts of the TT course fit for tomorrow's first Manx Grand Prix practice.

The Mountain Road has been particularly badly hit by the torrential rain.

Water has got under the road surface in several places up there, with Keppel Gate being a real problem patch.

Department of Infrastructure workers have had to break up the surface to let the water drain out.

But with more rain forecast for later and overnight they won't be able to start the resurfacing work until tomorrow.

Clerk of the Course Phil Taubman says this situation, alongside the need for enough marshals to be on duty, is putting tomorrow evening's opening practice session under serious threat:-
