Player crisis at Castletown

by isleofman.com 17th August 2012

There's a serious possibility Castletown will not be able to play either of their opening Football fixtures at the start of the new season.

Manx Radio Sport understands the committee has taken the decision that players are not available to represent the club until they have paid their subscriptions.

Many of the squad have yet to do so and the Isle of Man Football Association has confirmed the Combination Two fixture away to St. George's has been postponed because of the payment problem.

The first team game in the Premier League at home to St. George's is in serious doubt.

Castletown have until this evening to confirm whether they are in a position to field a team.
