MHK defends pulling funding for End-2-End

by isleofman.com 15th August 2012

Spending money on filming an event which is already oversubscribed does not make economic sense.

That's according to Geoff Corkish MHK, a political member of the Department of Economic Development with regard to the decision to pull funding for filming the End-2-End mountain bike challenge.

He says originally the aim of having the event broadcast on Sky Sports was to increase its exposure and therefore the number of people who entered.

However, Mr Corkish says it's as big as it can be in its current format, and believes the ?8000 they put towards the cost of filming could be better used elsewhere.
