Lifeboat rescues teenage swimmers

Port Erin lifeboat was launched on Friday evening after a report of people in difficulties in Port Erin bay.

The crew was paged by Liverpool Coastguard after receiving a 999 call.

The boat was launched at 8.45pm and found three teenagers struggling to make the shore.

They had just been taken out of the water by a second craft and taken to Port Erin jetty.

Lifeboat officials checked the youngsters were in good health and the lifeboat returned to station at 9.15pm.
