Vernon has critical injuries

Lee Vernon has sustained critical injuries in an incident in last night's Superbike Race at the Dundrod 150 road races.

The 24 year old motorcycle mechanic from Stoke-on-Trent made his debut at the T.T. in 2011.

His best result is 31st in the Supersport class and he has lapped the the Mountain Course in excess of 113mph.

The nature and extent of his injuries are being assessed at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.
