Pub fundraising boosts charity

by isleofman.com 9th August 2012

Regulars at a pub in the north of the Island have raised almost ?1,000 for a local charity.

The Glen Mona Social Club presented a cheque for ?939 to Hospice Isle of Man after holding a series of events and fundraising activities including car boot sales, a bingo night and treasure hunts.

The donation for the children’s hospice Rebecca House will help buy essential equipment.

Stuart Corlett, chairman of the social committee, says it took a lot of hard work to raise the money – but the total raised far exceeded expectations.
