by isleofman.com 8th August 2012

An inquest into the death of a Colby man was opened and adjourned at Douglas courthouse this morning.

Forty-four-year-old Mark Anthony Dickinson was found slumped over the bath at his home in Station Park.

There was powder residue around his mouth and nose.

The inquest heard a statement from consultant pathologist Dr Christopher Clague, which said the toxicology results showed large amounts of prescription drugs and alcohol in Mr Dickinson's system.

Dr Clague gave the cause of death as a medication overdose.

He said Mr Dickinson had undergone a recent bereavement which had led to clinical depression.

Coroner of Inquests Jayne Hughes expressed her condolences to his family and friends and adjourned proceedings while investigations continue.
