A UK national newspaper is asking whether the Isle of Man deserves special recognition after Peter Kennaugh’s victory on Friday.
The Daily Express has worked out how many gold medals each country in Team GB has won at the Olympic Games so far.
It says Scotland’s won one gold for every 830,000 people, England 1.1 million, Wales 1 million and Northern Ireland 600,000.
But in the article, headlined “why the Isle of Man deserves a gong”, it calls us the real winners – with one top medal for our population of 83,327.
