Castletown Commissioners will be debating whether or not they’re all really needed when they return from the summer recess.
After a similar motion was defeated in Port Erin last week, Colin Weir says he’ll ask the commissioners of the Island’s ancient capital whether they should cut the number of elected members from nine to seven.
Mr Weir says having fewer members would mean decisions could be taken more quickly, bringing benefits to the town.
He says he’s hoping to spark a debate when his suggestion is discussed.
