Supermodel Elle Macpherson has won the right to appeal against a Manx judgement over Kaupthing singer and Friedlander.
The Australian, known as The Body, had been ordered to pay ?8?million to the liquidators of Kaupthing in the UK – who refused to offset ?2.5?million she held with the Manx arm of the bank.
The 49 year old had fought the decision in the Manx courts, but lost the case before Deemster Moran.
However, she applied to appeal to the Privy Council – and could now see the Manx High Court’s decision overturned.
The Judicial Committee of the Privy Council is the highest court of appeal for the crown dependencies, including the Isle of Man.
