Olympic gold for Kennaugh in the team pursuit

Onchan cyclist Peter Kennaugh has become the first Manxman for 100 years - and the first truly born and bred one ever - to win an Olympic gold medal.

Kennaugh, Ed Clancy, Geraint Thomas and Steven Burke lived up to their pre-race billing as hot favourites in the men's team pursuit as they took gold and once again set a new world record time.

They finished the final in three minutes 51.659 seconds, 2.5 seconds ahead of their Australian rivals.
