DCCL minister hopeful about bus driver talks

Community, Culture and Leisure Minister Graham Cregeen says he hopes talks with bus drivers will help save his department ?300,000 a year.

At present, drivers are paid for lunch breaks, which Mr Cregeen says is one of the savings he’d like to make.

A row between management and unions threatened to overshadow the talks, with drivers claiming they’d been threatened with redundancy over the issue.

But Mr Cregeen says it’s something the department can’t afford – and no longer needs:
