The Manx Museum will once again open this Sunday (29 July) to local residents and visitors, and to welcome passengers from the ‘Quest for Adventure’ cruise ship scheduled to arrive early on Sunday morning. In the region of 200 cruise ship passengers are booked on planned excursions to Rushen Abbey, Laxey Wheel and Cregneash, while 300 more passengers are expected to visit Douglas.
The Manx Museum will be open from 10am to 5pm, the Bay Room Cafe will open 10.30am to 4pm, but the Reading Room will remain closed.
Visitors to the Manx Museum will have the opportunity to see the new ‘Olympic Dreams’ display, part of ‘Our Sporting Life’ exhibition and compete in an Olympic sport on the Kinect. Children can take on the new ‘Sporty Trail’ for a lucky dip prize and drinks voucher, or walk in the footsteps of the Vikings with a special trail in the Viking Gallery.

“There was a lovely atmosphere in the museum on the last Sunday opening and we’re really looking forward to welcoming as many people as possible this coming Sunday, both our local residents and visitors to the Island”.
Manx National Heritage seasonal sites including the House of Manannan are open daily 10am to 5pm throughout July and August. Residents and visitors can look out for a special site activities, events and promotions through the summer in the local newspaper or at www.manxnationalheritage.im.
Remember, ACE cardholders get in free to all Manx National Heritage sites, and local residents can snap up the season pass, only £20, available at all Manx Heritage shops and online.
