Manx Cricketers Beaten Again

by isleofman.com 25th July 2012

The Isle of Man has lost both matches in the ICC European Under-17 Division Two Championship.

After a defeat to Italy yesterday, they were beaten by hosts Denmark today in a warm Copenhagen today.

The Manx won the toss and decided to bat first.

They made a decent score of 188 but were dismissed with more than an over of their allocated 50 left.

Top scorer was Adam McAuley with 61 and there were useful contributions from Sam Kebbell with a quickfire 32 and Rowan Bird with 26.

Denmark were always in control in the run chase and got past their target with nearly four overs and six wickets in hand.

They finished on 190 for 4 - Nathan Knights and Sam Kebbell picked up a wicket each with the other two to fall being run-outs.
