No pre-school at two schools due to lack of demand

by isleofman.com 24th July 2012

Ballacottier and Manor Park Schools could be the latest to be without a pre-school facility in September.

Bosses at the charity Moonjer Veggey, which had been awarded the tender, says there simply isn’t demand to run the units at the moment.

Government run pre-schools transfer into private ownership in the autumn.

However, chairman of Moonjer Veggey, MHK Phil Gawne, hasn’t ruled out their involvement if more interest is forthcoming .
