The Chief Minister believes Peter Karran has a 'depth of experience' which can contribute to government at what is a difficult time.
Allan Bell was speaking after the recent announcement that Mr Karran has been appointed as a political member of the Department of Home Affairs.
He was sacked as Education Minister last month after voting against other members of the Council of Ministers on the Pinewood Shepperton deal.
Mr Bell says they've now moved on and Mr Karran has expressed his desire to work within government to help the Island move forward.
Mr Karran has made it clear he would still vote against any decision with which he has a fundamental disagreement - and Mr Bell says he has no problem with that.
