Staff from a Manx-based company have been helping provide fresh water to West Africa with a fundraising walk across the Isle of Man.

Eight workers from Panacea Pharma Projects raised money for Christian Aid by walking from Douglas to Peel along the old railway line.

The ?800 they raised through sponsorship was matched by the company and a cheque for ?1,600 was presented to Christian Aid at Panacea’s Middle River headquarters in Douglas.

Phil Craine of Christian Aid says the money will provide safe water to three drought-hit villages in Mali.
