Man accused of stabbing Manx tourist in court again

by isleofman.com 14th July 2012

An Irish man accused of stabbing an Island tourist at a concert in Dublin has been further remanded in custody.

22-year-old Raymond Donnan of Clondalkin is charged with assault causing harm, production of a knife in the course of a dispute, violent disorder, breach of the peace and being intoxicated in public.

28-year-old Andrew England of Douglas suffered stab wounds to his side and head as well as liver damage as well as cuts to the back of his head and elbow.

The attack took place at a Swedish House Mafia concert in Phoenix Park in Dublin last weekend.

Mr Donnan appeared before Judge David McHugh at Cloverhill District Court, who further remanded him in custody.

The hearing was told a file is being prepared for Ireland’s Director of Public Prosecutions, and Mr Donnan didn’t enter pleas to the charges.

Mr Donnan didn’t address the court during the short hearing and will appear again on August 3 next.

The case will likely be sent to the Circuit Court and it could take a year until Mr Donnan’s trial takes place.
