Bride School building leased to private provider

by isleofman.com 12th July 2012

A private operator offering daycare facilities is taking over the tenancy of Bride School, the Department of Education and Children can confirm.

Bride Nursery will operate from September, offering childcare for two to four-year-olds, including pre-school.

The DEC ceases to provide pre-school facilities from the end of the summer term. Last month, it announced it had leased pre-school facilities at schools to private operators – http://www.gov.im/lib/news/education/privateoperators.xml

However, it re-advertised Bride School under different terms after an agreement couldn’t initially be reached with an operator.

Bride School, which has just three pupils of school age, will close this summer, with pupils transferring to Andreas, with which it is merged.

The closure means the premises are being leased under a standard tenancy agreement with no restriction for term-time only use.
