Claire Milne, partner in Appleby (Isle of Man) LLC has been recognised in the Law Society of Scotland’s specialist accreditation scheme for a third term.
Established in 1990 the scheme recognises individuals who have developed specialist knowledge during their careers, enabling clients to identify solicitors with the necessary expertise to deal with the most complex of cases.
Accreditation is by means of a process of assessment, client endorsement, peer review and adjudication by the Panel. Each individual must demonstrate significance in the specialism during each of the five years preceding the application, something Claire has successfully achieved for the last ten years.
Commenting on the recognition, Claire said, “It is a huge privilege to once again feature among the industry’s most highly regarded solicitors and I am grateful to my peers and clients whose recommendations play a huge role in the process,” she continued, “The specialist accreditation regime is highly respected and provides independent endorsement of a lawyer’s position in their particular field of legal practice.”
Claire Milne is the Isle of Man Team Leader for the Intellectual Property & Telecommunications and Technology and Regulatory teams and is a partner in the Corporate & Commercial department at Appleby. She qualified as a Scottish solicitor in 1992, joined the firm in 2006 and was made a partner in 2009 after re-qualifying as a Manx advocate. She was previously a partner at Scottish law firm Thorntons for five years.
