Rushen MHK Lawrence Skelly says he feels let down after the government refused to look again at the island’s constitutional position.
Yesterday in Tynwald he asked Chief Minister Allan Bell to look into the pros and cons of independence.
Mr Skelly says Jersey’s deputy chief minister recently made remarks saying the Channel Island should seriously consider splitting with the UK.
He says even though a review has been ruled out, it would have been useful to know the facts about independence.
