Report on Public Broadcasting Subvention

by isleofman.com 10th July 2012

The Chairman of Manx Radio says he would like the government to agree with the Board of the station on just what is expected of a public service broadcaster.

David North was speaking as Tynwald was asked to receive a report from the Treasury on Public Broadcasting Subvention.

Mr North says it was hoped the report would stimulate discussion on the future funding of the station - something which won't now take place until the Autumn.

He says without such a decision and with ongoing cuts, the station could have to change
