A 22-year-old Irish man has been refused bail in Dublin after being accused of stabbing a tourist from the Isle of Man in the head.

Irish police say the incident happened during an open-air Swedish House Mafia concert in Dublin on Saturday.

Raymond Donnan, of Greenfort Crescent in the city, is charged with assault causing harm to Andrew England, production of a knife in the course of a dispute, violent disorder, breach of the peace and being intoxicated in public.

Mr Donnan was granted legal aid but refused bail. He’ll appear again at Cloverhill District Court on Friday.

Garda Sergeant Shane McCartan told Dublin District Court Mr England had been at the concert with his girlfriend and tried to help a woman who was involved in an altercation.

Sergeantt McCartan said 28-year-old Mr England was stabbed five times in his side and head, suffering liver damage and stitches to the back of his head and elbow.

The court heard Mr Donnan and about seven other men had been involved in a fight seen by Mr England's girlfriend and two police officers.

If convicted, Mr Donnan could face ten years in jail for violent disorder and five years for assault.
