The Manx Motorcycle Club is delighted to announce that over 250 riders have applied to enter the 2012 Manx Grand Prix Races – a slight increase when compared to the previous year.

The modern classes have attracted a strong field of 55 riders in the Newcomers races.  Riders from the UK, Ireland & Isle of Man will be joined by competitors from  France, Germany, Holland, Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, Faroe Islands  & USA making their debuts on the world famous TT Mountain Course.

Entries for the Classic Races are on par with recent years with 4 Newcomers taking part.

Phil Taubman, Vice Chairman of the MMCC & Clerk of the Course commented

“It is very pleasing to see that during the present economic climate riders are prepared to enter and make a huge commitment to ride in the Manx Grand Prix.

We would also like to acknowledge the support of the Mike Hailwood Foundation in encouraging Newcomers to the Manx and especially those who are travelling from America, Europe and the Scandinavian Countries. “

Practising for the 2012 Manx Grand Prix starts on Saturday 18 August and concludes with the Senior Manx Grand Prix Race on Friday 31 August.
