Electricity supplies restored out west

by isleofman.com 7th July 2012

Electricity supplies have been restored to homes in the west of the Island.

A number of properties were without power early yesterday evening (Friday) after damage was caused to an overhead power line in Glen Helen.

It led to supplies being lost between St. John's and Kirk Michael over Cronk-y-Voddy.

Power to one home was restored using temporary generation until a permanent repair can be undertaken.

Heavy winds and rain also led to a tree falling in the area of Laurel Bank on the Ballacraine to Glen Helen road.

The road was blocked until the early hours of this morning.
