Crash Ruins Day for Cav

by isleofman.com 4th July 2012

Isle of Man cycling superstar Mark Cavendish was involved in a huge crash in the final few kilometers of today's 4th stage of the Tour de France.

He was in an ideal position to contest the bunch sprint for the line when a number of riders collided at high speed.

The Manx Missile seemed to be uninjured apart from cuts and bruises as he rode to the finish.

His helmet was severely damaged at the back which shows how heavy his fall was.

The stage was won by former HTC team-mate Andre Greipel.

Here's the commentary of the incident from ITV4:-
