The issues to be considered by trustees making investment decisions is to be thrown in the spotlight.

Phil Games, chief executive of Simcocks, will be leading a presentation called It never crossed my mind, M’Lud on July 18.

Mr Games said: “The focus of this event will be to consider the issues faced by trustees when making a decision regarding a significant investment of the trust fund.”

Phil has a great deal of expertise in advising Isle of Man-based private clients, wealthy international families and commercial bodies who want to create bespoke off-shore and multi-jurisdictional structures such as Trusts, Foundations and companies for use in tax planning. He liaises with other specialists both within Simcocks and externally to provide assistance with wealth retention and succession planning. Phil has a proven track record in working effectively with offshore clients who need to implement estate planning and has considerable experience with the administration of international estates that hold multi-jurisdictional assets. He also deals with complex probate matters and international pensions. Phil serves on the board of a number of financial services and commercial bodies.

Researchers from the independent directory, The Legal 500, have recommended Phil for his “high quality advice and delivery” and they have described him as a, “pleasure to deal with,” with the ability to, “sharply and quickly focus in on the real issues.”

The event on July 18 is being organised by the Isle of Man branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and will be held at the Claremont Hotel, Loch Promenade. Booking in and refreshments start at 12.30pm and the presentation will run from 1-2pm.
